Swindon Youth Festival of Literature 2024

To much acclaim Swindon Youth Festival of Literature is back again for its 17th Year. The supporting authors are due to be announced shortly.

Bower Bailey Solicitors are delighted to once again be sponsoring the following awards: The Library Ambassadors, Creative Writing and the Inter-school Book Quiz.

Katie Went, Partner Bower Bailey said, “It’s an absolute honour and privilege to support Swindon Youth Festival of Literature again. The enthusiasm is tangible amongst the secondary school students at the Book Quiz.

Katie Went, continued, “I am really proud of all of the students. Their literary knowledge is amazing.”

“It’s always extremely rewarding for the students to have their literary masterpieces acknowledged in the Creative Writing Competition. I find the level of creativity and writing from the students extremely impressive. The literary world has some remarkable talent emerging. Swindon should be very proud.”

“We’ve recently started a reading loan library in our Swindon office. Reading is such an important life skill and so beneficial for our mental health. It’s great that these students are able to meet and benefit from speaking to some published authors and artists in the heart of Swindon. It’s so incredibly inspirational. “

Kate Murphy, Learning Centre Manager at The Dorcan Academy is organising the event. Kate spoke very highly of both the students and librarians at each of the participating Swindon Secondary Schools. “Without the relentless efforts of the Swindon School Librarians and the keen student participation this event wouldn’t be happening. We have a great line up of authors for this year’s festival. Keep your eyes peeled for the line up to be announced shortly.”
