Anyone for tennis? Marlborough Tennis Business 200 Club launch

30th April 2019

Bower Bailey Solicitors and Handelsbanken Swindon are delighted to be Founder Members of the recently launched Marlborough Tennis Business 200 Club. It is an exclusive club for businesses who want to support the Marlborough Tennis fundraising appeal.

The Marlborough Tennis Business 200 Club was launched at the 2018 Marlborough Tennis Ball with Mary Cutts from Bower Bailey Solicitors and Jon Hemming from Handelsbanken Swindon. The idea behind the initiative came from a vision from both businesses to support the fundraising initiatives for Marlborough Tennis and to develop a higher level of community business involvement. Sarah Nichols and Hilda Moore from Marlborough Tennis have been joined by Stephanie Nunley, Bower Bailey Solicitors and Sarah Sheppard from Handelsbanken Swindon who have been instrumental in spearheading this Marlborough fundraising initiative.

Sarah Nichols said, “This is an opportunity for local businesses to get involved in a community project where they and their staff can help grow this amazing not for profit facility.”

The launch of the Marlborough Tennis Business 200 club will help to provide a healthy, fun and social legacy for all generations in the Marlborough community through tennis.

Speaking about the launch of the Marlborough Tennis Business 200 Club Mary Cutts, Commercial Property Partner from Bower Bailey Solicitors said, “It’s fantastic to be part of this great initiative in Marlborough. The aim is for 50 companies to join as Business 200 Club Members. As a firm we are already very active in Marlborough but we are looking forward to playing a prominent role in the Business 200 Club.”

Hilda Moore from Marlborough Tennis added:

“This will provide Marlborough Tennis with the requisite funding to directly target groups in the community by:

  • Extending our Outreach programme into schools to encourage all children to try tennis, a game for life;
  • Encouraging age 50+ groups to get back into or take up tennis;
  • Involving disabled groups and encouraging them to play and
  • Providing the facilities to enable this involvement.”

“An additional benefit for Marlborough Tennis 200 Club Members is that their logo will appear on the Marlborough Tennis website and they will be invited to an exclusive event.”
