Karen has worked in private legal practice for over 20 years and qualified as a Legal Executive in 2010 after obtaining a law degree in 2005. She previously worked for the Institute of Legal Finance and Management as Head of Professional Development and prior to that, for two Oxfordshire law firms in a variety of roles, most recently as Operations Director and Compliance Office for Finance and Administration (COFA).

She joined Bower Bailey in 2025 as Risk and Compliance Executive, assisting the firm in meeting its regulatory obligations.

Areas of expertise:

Throughout her career and variety of roles, Karen has developed a deep understanding of the financial, compliance and operational requirements of running a law firm with particular expertise in the SRA Accounts Rules. Alongside expertise in risk and compliance, she also has extensive knowledge and experience of legal technology and product development.

Personal interests:

Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, walking and keeping fit, and has a general interest in sports, particularly football and Formula 1. Karen also enjoys history, musical theatre and attending music events.
