Lauren joined the Swindon office of Bower Bailey as a paralegal in January 2017 and was very soon offered a training contract. She qualified as a solicitor in March 2019 and now specialises in family law.

Prior to joining Bower Bailey Lauren completed her law degree at the University of Bristol. Post-graduation she spent 18 months working at a specialist family law firm in Oxfordshire whilst studying for her Masters Degree in Professional Legal Practice in which she obtained a distinction.

Lauren appreciates that a relationship breakdown can be an extremely difficult and emotional time for not only the parties involved and any children, but often for extended family members. Lauren prides herself on always giving honest and straightforward advice whilst remaining supportive and empathetic towards the needs of individual clients.

Recent Work

  • Acted for the petitioner in divorce proceedings to successfully negotiate a financial settlement avoiding the need for court proceedings.
  • Acted in the preparation of a pre-nuptial agreement to ring-fence assets accrued prior to the marriage.
  • Represented the applicant in financial remedy proceedings on divorce and obtained an outcome at final hearing in line with their proposal.
  • Successfully represented a client who sought permission for their grandchild to permanently reside with them.
  • Successfully represented a client in preventing the removal of their children from the jurisdiction and to secure a shared care arrangement.
  • Acted for a client to transfer the family home into their sole name (including a remortgage) following a financial order being made on divorce.

Personal Interests

Outside of work Lauren enjoys keeping fit and she has recently achieved her black belt in Wado Ryu Karate. She has also helped to organise a team of 10 ladies from Bower Bailey’s Swindon office to take part in a Pretty Muddy Race for Life at Lydiard Park, raising over £1,000 for Cancer Research.
