Phil joined the firm in 1994 as a newly qualified solicitor. He became a partner in 1998 and has been the partner in charge of the Banbury office since 2007. Phil deals both private client work, heading up the firm’s private client practice area, as well as residential conveyancing.

Phil has an extremely diverse client base, with clients based locally, nationally and abroad. His private client work ranges from clients planning for their families’ future through a Will or trust to the administration of an estate for those unfortunate enough to lose a loved one in. His residential conveyancing work ranges from acting for a first time buyer to a high net worth client moving home. He also acts for property developers and investment buyers. Phil takes pride in the fact that he and his teams strive to give all clients a quality and friendly personal service, being approachable to all.

  • Conversion of large residential dwelling into 3 residential leasehold flats and related re-mortgages of two of the flats.
  • Dealt with drafting and execution of Wills for clients with overseas property.
  • Purchase of a property from a housing association under the “Right to Buy” scheme for a longstanding client.
  • Sale and purchase for a client, incorporating the use of funds from a family trust with protection of the trust’s interest in the new property.

Personal interests:

Outside work Phil is a keen sportsman. He enjoys playing golf and squash, but now only watches cricket and rugby as he says age is catching up with him so has to walk the dog instead. He is an ardent Nottingham Forest Football Club supporter through thick and thin – mainly thin of late!
